Job Description:

We are looking for a Facilities Assistant with a proven track record of working in a busy and professional FM environment to join us. Nesta is the landlord of 58 Victoria Embankment - our newly built, high-end office space, occupying seven floors and overlooking the Thames. The space is used in a variety of ways - as an office for Nesta, as a flexible events space and as tenanted space to three leaseholders.

About Nesta

Nesta is a global innovation foundation. We back new ideas to tackle the big challenges of our time. Our mission is to spark and shape new ideas that improve how the world works for everyone. We use our knowledge, networks, funding and skills - working in partnership with others, including governments, businesses and charities. We are a UK charity but work all over the world, supported by a financial endowment.

About the role

In this busy, challenging role you will support the Building Management team in looking after all practical aspects of 58 Victoria Embankment and ensure that Nesta's facilities and events operate smoothly. This will involve looking after the day-to-day running of the space that Nesta occupies and assisting the venue and sales team. You will also get involved in general facilities duties such as managing the postal delivery service, overseeing cleaning, monitoring office equipment and reporting any issues/defects and carrying out basic maintenance repairs such as replacing screws, door handles, etc.

To secure this opportunity

We are looking for someone with a good knowledge of mechanical and electrical services (e.g. air conditioning and lighting) and basic health and safety knowledge. The ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of people in a professional manner is important too, as is computer literacy including word processing and spreadsheets. Physically fit, you must be able to lift and carry heavy bulky items as and when required.
