Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity with a leading care specialist who are looking for an Assistant Manager to join their supported living and community services in Addlestone and Chertsey, Surrey. The client group for this service are physical and learning disabilities so experience within this client group would be desirable.

Job Purpose:
• To develop and lead support services in accordance with person centred approaches and actively encourage community links and relationships.
• To support and promote the organisations vision, values and operating principles.

• In this role you will work closely with the Service Manager to inspire and motivate your team to provide a high quality service. Acting as a role model in the delivery of active support you will promote and maintain person centred approaches and inclusive community links.
• Leading and inspiring your team in the implementation of the business plan and other strategic objectives you will ensure that your service develops sustainably, maintaining our commitment to the Avenues mission, vision and values.
• Due to the location and needs of this service it is desirable that you hold a valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
• As an experienced social care professional, you will have experience of leading a large team and providing support to adults living with epilepsy and supporting people with challenging behaviour. Knowledge of Makaton would be beneficial.
• You will be a natural networker, at ease forging relationships with multi-disciplinary professionals, service users and families alike.
• You will have a chance to put your empathy, compassion and patience centre-stage in our person-centred approach to providing support.
• A confident communicator at all levels, you will be able to influence others and use effective leadership and coaching to get the best from your team. You will be passionate about building great relationships and community links and will be creative and proactive in finding solutions to setbacks.
• As an Assistant Service Manager you will be a natural when it comes to thinking on your feet and making the commitment to see things through and get the best outcomes for the people we support.

• Demonstrable experience of leading a team to success; including performance management, conduct and development issues.
• NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care
• Willing to work towards Positive Behavioural Support
